Statement of condemnation of the threats and assaults against journalist Al-Qob in Hodeidah

Mayyun Organization for Human Rights condemns the attack on human rights defender journalist Mgahed Al-Qob in the city of Al-Khawkhah, south of Hodeidah, by armed elements affiliated with Brigadier General Yahya Al-Wahish, commander of the Al-Wahish Brigades, one of the factions of the Tihami Brigades on the western coast affiliated with the internationally recognized Yemeni government, against the backdrop of his human rights activities in Hodeidah. .

At the same time, the organization denounces the fact that the same elements took the former journalist after assaulting him and detaining him in the directorate’s security department prison without legal justification.

We call on the security services to provide protection for the title and conduct a transparent investigation to uncover the circumstances and arrest those involved in the attack.
