A statement condemning the mortar attack on civilians south of Hodeidah, which left children injured

We strongly condemn the mortar attack launched by the Houthi group on civilians in Wadi Nakhla, Hays district, south of Hodeidah, which resulted in the injury of five children between the ages of eight and thirteen.

Targeting these children while they are grazing livestock is a flagrant Houthi violation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and international humanitarian law.
As we demand an immediate end to these horrific violations, and to ensure that the perpetrators do not go unpunished, we call on the United Nations, the UN envoy to Yemen, the “UNMHA” mission and human rights organizations to condemn this crime and take an explicit stand on it.
