Welcoming statement of the prisoner exchange agreement in Yemen

We welcome the agreement reached by the representatives of the parties to the conflict in Yemen on the executive plan to release
887 prisoners in implementation of the Stockholm Agreement, at the conclusion of their meetings in Switzerland today, Monday,
March 20, 2023. We also welcome their agreement to reconvene similar meetings next May to release another number of prisoners.

This humanitarian step would represent an important push – on the principle of all for all – to release all remaining prisoners who
are waiting to be reunited with their families who have been suffering under the circumstances of the war that has been going
on for eight years.

We urge all parties to fulfill their obligations to release the prisoners and to work with the United Nations and the International Committee
of the Red Cross to put in place the necessary arrangements for the implementation of the exchange process on time.
