Statement of the International Day Against the Use of Child Soldiers

Statement of the International Day Against the Use of Child Soldiers Mayyun Organization takes advantage of the International Day Against the Use of Child Soldiers, RedHandDay, to remind thousands of child victims of recruitment in Yemen and the suffering of their families. The data documented by us this year indicates the continued recruitment and use of children as soldiers in Yemen by the Houthi group, despite its pledges to disclose and demobilize all children recruited to it in the “action plan” it signed with the United Nations in April of last year. As the Mayon organization makes concrete efforts, it calls on Yemeni organizations and activists and the media to interact positively with it by raising awareness of the danger of using children in conflicts and demanding the demobilization of all child soldiers and their integration into society.
