A statement of solidarity supporting the demands of the Teachers Club in Sana’a
Mayyun Human Rights Organization stands with the demands announced by the Teachers Club in Sana’a, foremost of which is the payment of teachers’ salaries that have been suspended for years.
While we declare our absolute support for these just demands in light of the severe suffering experienced by teachers and their families, we express at the same time our concern about the irregularity of the educational process in the current academic year due to the ntransigence of the Houthi group and its practices against teachers, which exacerbates the dropout of large numbers of male and female students from schools to be Vulnerable to attracting extremist groups, and increasing the number of recruited children.
In this regard, the Mayyun Organization denounces the repressive methods adopted by the Houthi group to force teachers to carry out heir work without taking any practical action to ensure that they receive monthly salaries from unrecognized government revenues, similar to any affiliated agencies, agencies and institutions.
